Some news!!

1 min read

Hello!

I am finally back to my social medias, after a long period off of it. I am super happy to be back at posting some art.

I am currently working on my thesis project which will be an Animated Short Film (super excited for it YAAAAS) but I can't show you anything yet, it'll be a surprise!

I was hoping to have it done by March but since it's a pretty long story it might requires a bit more time to finish. The due dates are March or June so the only thing I am sure about is that the animation will come out on 2021! (I might also take part to some film festivals, or al least try to, wish me luck!)

For all the rest, I am currently involved in some very interesting projects that I AM LOVING and I'll make sure to share with you some of the things I make, if I'll have the permission!

Have a nice day you all!

Hello! Here it is a little step-by-step of the piece I've just uploaded!

The Invisible Details serie is an invitation for the viewer to focus not on the common loved animal parts such as eyes and mouths but also on specific details or body parts that I personally think deserve as much appreciation as other parts. My first painting for this serie wanted to focus on the beauty of the ears and tiger's chicks fur from behind, today we will be talking about paws! They are much more loved and known from people but I still wanted to share with you how I personally see big cats paws. The colors I choose are not only visually appealing but also very fragile and delicate and they are perfect to tell about this beautiful body part. Paws can be so curve, fluffy and elegant but they actually hide claws, something sharp that can be dangerous. For some strange reason I almost never think of paws in the dangerous way and I almost never depict or imagine them with claws!

Enjoy the step-by-step!

The first thing I do before starting a painting is to put down 2 or more sketches to come up with a nice composition and idea.

Secondly I start drawing a more clear lineart, just for me to have an easy guide to follow while painting, I almost never draw super clean and detailed linearts. In this case I used a reference image taken from Google Image for the stripes on the tiger's body.

Here I started adding some base colors and usually in this stage I can't wait to add lights and shadows even before giving it a context!

Lights and shadows done in Overlay and Multiply!

Adding a background! Here I literally played with textures and effects! I found nice using the movement blur in the background case! (still didn't know what I wanted to paint for the backgorund)

Last step: rendering! Sometimes it can be very frustrating for me to render paintings but I found out that pushing harder can lead me to good results! I rendered fur and background adding grass that could help to make the overall pic look light and delicate. In this step I also tried to integrate the tiger's colors on the environment I created giving it some extra red and yellow.

Invisible Details 2

This is the final result with some lights being adeed and white flowers here and there. Hope you enjoy this process! If you like to know more about what's behind a painting of mine or anything else, just let me know it on the comments, I'd be more than happy to share knowledge with you all!
